2021 Thesis Exhibition in The Widener Gallery
The Studio Arts Program requires that all majors, and some minors by invitation, complete Thesis in Studio Arts. It is a culmination of four years of study that allows time and space to independently discover “voice” and its relationship to ideas, process, medium, and form. And, of course the sense of self in relation to the world.
In normal times, a formative component of thesis is not only the creation of a body of artwork, but the design and installation of one-person exhibitions, including the preparation of a professional announcement and the organization of a public reception. The COVID-19 pandemic has made these exhibitions impossible for now.
This year we were able to mount a group exhibition including the work of all the thesis students in The Widener Gallery, the College’s main exhibition space. There was no public reception, and the exhibition was only available to members of the Trinity College campus community. As a platform, this website will give these graduating artists and their work the audience and recognition they so highly deserve.
The Studio Arts faculty celebrates them. We wish them courage and accomplishment as they continue their pursuits in art, and all endeavors, throughout their lives.
