Ihsan Uyan – Ecole Polytechnique, Spring 2022
I had a chance to join 130th Bal de L’X which is a traditional end of the year ball organized by Ecole Polytechnique Alumni every year at Palais Garnier. With Opera’s elegant Neo-Baroque interior design, Polytechnique students wearing their military school uniform, and traditional Quadrille being staged by students, I felt like living in Belle Époque in 1870s. It was one of the unique nights of my life experiencing a culture I have read from books or seen in the paintings and movies previously.
