Letters and Characters
Ellen Cushman is a citizen of the Cherokee Nation and serves as Dean's Professor of Civic Sustainability and Professor of English at Northeastern University. She is the author of The Cherokee Syllabary: Writing the People’s Perseverance (2012) and over 45 articles and chapters. She is co-editor with Damián Baca and Jonathan Osborne of Landmark Essays: Rhetorics of Difference (Routledge 2018) and with Christina Haas and Mike Rose of Literacies: A Critical Sourcebook (Macmillan 2019).
